      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Assess the adequacy of health record documentation to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures
      - Assign accurate ICD-10 codes and non-indexed medical terms based on knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and clinical disease processes
      - Perform charge data entry for hospital and physician patient accounting systems
      - Interact with the public and internal stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service
      - Collaborate with coding staff, nursing units, and physicians to ensure coding accuracy and compliance

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High School Diploma or GED
      - Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems
      - Minimum of two (2) years of coding experience
      - Certification in one of the following: CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA
      - Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and communicate effectively

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field
      - Preferred certifications: RHIA or RHIT
      - Experience with electronic coding systems such as Epic
      - Strong knowledge of surgical coding in inpatient and outpatient settings
      - Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
