      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Read and interpret health record documentation to identify all diagnoses and procedures
      - Assess the adequacy of health record documentation to ensure accurate coding
      - Assign accurate codes to diagnoses and procedures using knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and clinical terminology
      - Confirm principal diagnoses and procedures according to coding guidelines
      - Assist patient billing services to submit clean claims for medical necessity

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High School Diploma or GED
      - Understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding systems
      - One of the following certifications: CCA, CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA
      - Minimum of two (2) years of coding experience
      - Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management
      - Preferred certifications: RHIA or RHIT
      - Experience with Uniform Hospital Discharge Data Set (UHDDS) definitions
      - Knowledge of the Prospective Payment System for confirming DRGs and APCs
