- Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
- The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
- Performs scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
- Ensures that the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for that surgeon and procedure.
- Assists with circulating duties under the direct supervision of the RN circulator assigned to the patient.
- Ensure adherence to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT – Certification.
- Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist in the State of NJ.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- High School or GED equivalent
- Graduate of Surgical Technologist Program.
- Minimum of one (1) year as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT – Certification.
