What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Coordinate with the Sustainability Division Manager to develop and monitor the annual budget for sustainability projects
- Manage project administration for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and carbon neutrality programs
- Develop communication materials and reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Facilitate collaboration with various City departments to implement sustainable management practices
- Support grant proposal processes and monitor progress on funded sustainability projects
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a directly related field
- Minimum of five years of professional program administration and/or analytical experience
- Intermediate-level proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate effectively both in writing and orally
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certification in project management, process improvement, or Lean Six Sigma
- Experience with energy and climate programs, including decarbonization and electric vehicle infrastructure
- Understanding of local government administration, finance, and procurement processes
- Sustainability-related certification, such as LEED Green Associate (GA)
- Experience in data analysis and visualization
