Job Description

- Strengthen and implement our overarching market sustainability strategy and programs, challenge and escalate any potential risks
- Ensure compliance with environmental and social standards, including our own Nestlé standards by aligning with Global and Zone/Category strategies
- Integrate sustainability goals (e.g. CO2 reduction, water regeneration, biodiversity preservation) into business processes & multi-category projects and link functions and categories across the market
- Collaborate with external agencies, advisors, and experts to gain insights and guidance on environmental impact reduction projects, advising potential business measures and proposing new projects & ideas
- Provide support in different sustainability projects, collaborate with subject matter experts and provide functional leadership to develop impactful and sustainable projects
- Oversee and ensure project portfolio governance, monitoring, data & reporting
- Steer the Market Sustainability Board and Sustainability Claims Committee
- Foster partnerships with industry stakeholders, suppliers, and universities to develop joint projects focused on recycling, logistics optimization, and sustainable energy solutions
- Represent Nestlé Switzerland and its sustainability efforts in external communication and advocacy activities
- Strengthen our external communication ecosystem to convey our sustainability efforts to consumers
- Conduct training and awareness initiatives to enhance sustainability awareness & know-how within the company, developing and actively promoting a living culture of environmental awareness and alternative solutions
- A passion for environmental protection and shaping organizational change
- Experience in managing large and complex sustainability projects across different departments and teams
- Proven analytical skills and ability to communicate complex data effectively
- Strong understanding of business needs & requirements as well as regulations, standards, trends and methodologies
- Track record of translating complex sustainability topics into effective tactics and communication
- Good stakeholder & project management skills for effective collaboration, ability to work with internal and external stakeholders of all levels and knowledge
- Diplomatic, passionate, and assertive personality to mobilize people towards common goals and implement change
- Proficiency in handling data, numbers, and scientific information
- Strong desire to deliver tangible results and to be a force for good
- Fluent in German, French and English

As our new Sustainability Lead, you will lead and implement sustainable processes and strategies, actively drive Nestlé Switzerland’s sustainability roadmap and transformation and advise our organization on sustainability standards, practices and developments. To succeed in this role, you need to bring a deep understanding of sustainability standards and practices, as well as industry-specific knowledge. In addition, we are looking for a candidate with strong project management and analytical skills.
