      Job Description:

      We are looking for a skilled Systems Engineer to perform systems engineering activities and develop work products across various process areas. You will analyze technical alternatives, propose engineering standards, and supervise project engineering staff to ensure successful project outcomes. Additionally, you will brief stakeholders on the technical aspects of projects and independently make decisions regarding engineering methodologies.

      The Level 5 Systems Engineer shall possess the following capabilities:

      • Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in one of a number of technical process areas
      • Develop and deliver a work product in a specific process area.
      • Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
      • Assist in performing systems engineering activities in several areas
      • Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of multiple work products in Project and/or Technical Process Areas associated with one of several areas
      • Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products in several different areas.
      • Independently analyze, and recommend alternatives for elements of project’s technical design.
      • Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products of one of several process areas
      • Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue.
      • Assist in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation.
      • Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and processes for a project.
      • Supervise or coordinate the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on a project.
      • Lead contractor systems engineering activities for a project to include supervising the work of the project engineering staff and technicians.
      • Approve delivery of work products of multiple Processes Areas.
      • Independently make decisions regarding engineering issues and methodology for a project.
      • Brief stakeholders and present the status on all technical aspects of their project.

      Qualifications:

      • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus fifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience
      • A High School Diploma or GED plus nineteen (19) years of general systems engineering experience (any Process Area)
      • A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience
      • A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.
      • Hands-On familiarity with various software defined radios (SDRs).
      • Experience utilizing various test equipment to include: spectrum analyzer's, signal generators, power meters, IR cameras and volt meters.
      • Basic understanding of the principals of RF propagation.
      • Experience w/creating test cases, test suites and performing test cycles to support DTE1 Hardware or Software.
      • Familiarity utilizing VISIO or like kind software to create System Drawing Documentation.
      • Working level or better LINUX Skills.
      • Comfortable taking system requirements and site survey information and leading system design/integration through the system build life cycle from start to finish.
      • Willing and able to travel CONUS/OCONUS for up to 90 days a year(non-continuous) to support system installation or maintenance cycles.
      • Comfortable with loading various software applications, applying firmware updates.
      • Able to work in a collaborative environment but also willing to step-up and take the lead system builds across multifunctional teams.
      • Familiar with various electrical power distribution devices, UPSI. PDUs, generators and how to employ them.
      • Familiar with Basic System network devices, Firewalls, Switches, Routers and Networking principals.
      • Willing to share information and help train junior engineers/integrators basic skills we employ on a daily basis.

      Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
