      At Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, we are committed to designing, integrating, and managing complex systems that improve patient care and enhance operational efficiency. Our systems engineering approach utilizes systems thinking principles to organize and optimize knowledge, ensuring that each phase of the system's life cycle is carefully managed. As we focus on advancing our internal platform, set to launch on a modernized SharePoint platform, we are expanding our team to support both its initial implementation and ongoing management. This is an exciting opportunity for entry-level Systems Engineers to join a dynamic team, contribute to innovative projects, and help shape the future of healthcare technology at CCHMC.

      Project Management:

      • Collaborate in the design, development, and implementation of new and enhanced application requests to meet organizational needs.

      • Identify and allocate appropriate resources for small to mid-sized projects, ensuring effective execution.

      • Act as a liaison between internal and external teams, facilitating communication on project-related issues and developments.

      • Participate in the creation and management of detailed project plans, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.

      • Assess the scope and complexity of projects and contribute to project planning and resource allocation.

      • Work cross-functionally with multiple teams to ensure project goals align with organizational priorities.

      System Analysis & Design:

      • Engage in analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining moderately complex systems that enhance clinical care and patient management.

      • Participate in system testing, document outcomes, and contribute to the refinement of system functionality.

      • Design and develop technical solutions to address operational challenges and system requirements.

      • Prepare comprehensive user and technical documentation to support system deployment and usage.

      • Analyze existing documentation and provide enhancements or corrections to improve clarity and accuracy.

      • Follow the development lifecycle process, including operating procedures and documentation, to ensure the success of system solutions.

      Technical Support:

      • Provide technical support and problem resolution for production and process issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

      • Troubleshoot and interpret error messages, identifying resources needed to resolve minor to mid-sized issues effectively.

      • Utilize change control processes to implement system solutions and mitigate future issues.

      • Serve as a resource for other departments, acting as a liaison between Cincinnati Children’s departments and Information Services.

      • Contribute to departmental efforts aimed at improving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

      • Monitor system performance to identify potential issues and support future development or feasibility studies.

      • Participate in on-call support rotations, addressing incident resolution and problem determination during designated hours.

      End-User Support:

      • Ensure exceptional end-user support, monitoring Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for incident management and resolving issues efficiently.

      • Collaborate with other teams to ensure customer-centric incident management and issue resolution.

      • Promote adherence to change management policies and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.

      • Exemplify excellent customer service behavior, including prompt and thorough follow-ups with customers.

      • Uphold Cincinnati Children’s service standards (Courteous, Attentive, Respectful, Enthusiastic, and Safe - CARES) when interacting with clients and colleagues.

      Professional Development:

      • Continuously develop knowledge and professional skills through cross-training, attending relevant literature, and participating in department meetings and vendor education.

      • Foster and maintain positive relationships with internal teams and external partners.

      • Motivate team members, encouraging collaboration and teamwork to achieve departmental goals.

      • Prepare and deliver oral and written presentations on various topics related to technical initiatives.

      • Conduct and participate in instructional seminars to improve knowledge-sharing within the department.

      • Develop expertise in several Cincinnati Children's computer-based systems to enhance support capabilities.

      Job Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

      • 0+ years of experience in a related job discipline, with a willingness to learn and grow in a technical support environment.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience in providing basic technical support to end users, with a focus on troubleshooting and assisting with Microsoft 365 products.

      • Familiarity with core Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint.

      • Willingness to learn how to assist users in adopting Microsoft 365 tools effectively and provide guidance on basic functions and features.

      • Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 administration tasks, such as managing user access and supporting cloud-based communication and storage tools.

      • Enthusiasm for keeping up with Microsoft 365 updates and new features to improve workflows and productivity.
