About the Role
WESCAM is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to join our elite design team. Your need for a challenge will be fulfilled as you deal with the complexity of integrating the efforts of multiple engineering disciplines to create our world-class surveillance products, plus you'll be working with some of the best educated and brightest designers in the business. Within this environment your ideas and skills will be enhanced by excellent technology and you will serve as a key member in a multi-disciplinary R&D team working on a wide variety of imaging and laser systems. Primary Responsibilities
· Provide a technical leadership for the development of EO/IR products
· Assist in the development of system specifications and interface control documents
· Assist in creation and maintaining of Contract Data Requirements List Deliverable Data Items
· Maintain traceability of project requirements
· Support product level design and analysis tasks in support of system level requirements
· Document system design assumptions, trade-offs, issues, in a design description document
· Conduct product qualification and system integration verification/validation tests
· Generate qualification plan and the qualification summary report
· Participate in system design reviews
· Ensures deliverable product meets the design objectives
· Support Bids and Proposals process with proposal specifications, identification of proposed system LRUs
· Collaborate with other Senior Engineers on the creation of new product features and sensors.
· Keep in synchronization with Systems Engineering industry trends and new technology that may be relevant to L3Harris Wescam present and future development
Required Capabilities
· Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area
· Practical knowledge of project management
· Familiarity with Systems Engineering life cycle process
· Understanding of MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704 specifications
· Strong leadership, planning, organizational and analytical skills
· Ability to deal directly with internal and external customers
· Familiarity with AS9100 quality management system
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Familiarity with DOORs is an asset
· Understanding of Airborne or Maritime applications for EO/IR products is an asset
Desired Education and Experiences
· Undergraduate Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
· Minimum 4 years’ experience in a related job with progressive technical and project experience
· Meets the requirements of the Controlled Goods Registration Program and is eligible for a Canadian government security clearance
