      Lockheed Martin is leading the way in hypersonic missile development, and we want you to be a part of it! We are creating the first hypersonic boost/glide system for the US Army and Navy here on the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program and Long Range Hypersonic Weapon program. Our Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) element is responsible for the development of the full weapon system through various flight test campaigns. Our element includes multiple Integrated Product Teams responsible for design, integration, and verification for a complex weapon system.

      We are looking for an energetic, disciplined, and team-oriented engineer to serve as our Joint Flight Campaign (JFC) 3 Mission Thread Lead, and ensure the current major products in development are integrated and successfully launched through flight test. Our mission thread leads are dedicated to the mission, drawing from strong interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure technical cross-functional integration remains intact. This role will require you to build relationships across the program and with our national partners to meet all critical program milestones and ensure clean handoffs. Additionally, this role will be responsible for maintaining and adjusting the detailed plan coordinating the multiple teams, and to facilitate discussions and problem resolution and issues or gaps are discovered.       In this role, you will:

      • Work with IPT Senior Managers and Program Executives to translate the long-range plans into a synchronized execution roadmap
      • Develop strong working relationships with the larger systems team, national team members, and customers to ensure successful delivery of each software build
      • Integrate with the systems verification and test teams to facilitate a clean handoff of software for testing across multiple sites
      • Connect multi-discipline communities to tackle challenges and gaps in development and test
      • Establish, manage, and communicate team expectations, goals, roles, responsibilities, and objectives
      • Utilize your excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate and resolve programmatic and technical issues across the program, identify risks, and appropriate mitigation plans
      • Collaborate with government and customer representatives in support of critical “go fast” schedule and distributed multi-element deliveries and activities


      Standard Job Description
      Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT. • Previous experience in government program systems engineering.
      • Knowledge of MBSE tools, i.e., CAMEO.
      • Knowledge of the DOORS requirements database, verification event planning, and a knowledge of DOD type contracts and work.
      • BS Degree in Engineering, or STEM
      • Must have an active Secret Clearance • Customer interaction and familiarity with the DoD Labs/Facilities
      • Recognized as an authority in systems thinking techniques with the demonstrated ability to apply them to a wide range of complex problems and train others in their application
      • Experience with Software Development
      • Experience with Guidance Navigation and Control
      • Demonstrated understanding and application of Systems Engineering and a Systems Thinking mindset
      • Experience working with groups and organizations outside of your immediate product area
      • Ability to manage multiple, often-competing requests, effectively prioritizing the most urgent ones
      • Ability to look across the entire system to identify potential impacts of a change
      • Ability to plan out and accomplish tasks with minimal oversight and support
      • Passion to apply creative problem solving and creative thinking to accomplish what seems impossible
      • Excellent presentation and written communication skills
