- Six weeks (30 days) of paid annual leave per year + additional paid Christmas stand down

- Organising a state-wide invitation to a physical aptitude test
- Preparing documents and materials in support of an in person assessment day.
- Processing recruitment actions and selection outcomes using the in-house recruitment system (SAP Success Factors).
- Providing candidate care via email and phone to candidates as they move through the recruitment process.
- Being a positive and informative brand ambassador for the AFP in all interactions with candidates.
- Participating in or supporting recruitment activities such as interviews or assessment centres.
- Generating letters of offer, and relevant documentation to ensure a positive and timely onboarding experience for new recruits.
- Liaising with a variety of internal stakeholders in response to their recruitment requirements to ensure operational and business needs are met.
- Assisting in a range of corporate support tasks and contributing to the review and evaluation of recruitment policies and processes to enhance the delivery of recruitment to the AFP.
- Producing reports and updates on recruitment processes and other relevant statistics.
- Has strong customer service skills.
- Is able to solve problems, work autonomously, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Is confident, clear, and concise when communicating over the phone, through virtual meetings, In person, and in email.
- Enjoys working in a lively and collaborative small team environment.
- Enjoys delivering work against a process or defined workflow.
- Is confident with the Microsoft Office suite, and comfortable learning new systems and processes.
- Strong attention to detail.
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Knowledge of, or the desire to learn about government recruitment.
- High level customer service skills.
- Broad ranging administrative skills.
- Contemporary experience working in one of the below areas:
- Recruitment/HR environment, or;
- Administration - ideally in a government organisation, or;
- High level customer service role.
- Completed study and/or qualifications in Human Resources
- Ability to travel interstate
- Organising your work, making sound decisions and achieving outcomes
- Communicating and working effectively with other people
- Applying technical knowledge, expertise and skills

What is the role?
The Recruitment function is a part of the broader People Command within the Australian Federal Police.
Within Recruitment, a dedicated team is tasked with the particular recruitment of our Sworn Police and Protective Service Officers, this team administers bulk recruitment processes year round, and supports candidates through their journey towards becoming a Police, or Protective Service Officer. This team is known as the Sworn Recruitment team.
The role is centred around supporting our established Melbourne and Canberra based team members on a range of administration and recruitment activities that enable us to progress candidates through our recruitment gateways. Some examples of the tasks you may be involved in could include:
More broadly, our Recruitment team also provides expert recruitment advice and services to our internal clients, represents the AFP brand as the first point of customer service for candidates, and ultimately supports the strategic intent of the AFP by recruiting the people we need, both now and for the future.
