      This Summer Trainee position is from June through December 13th and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. This position is ideal for recent graduates or entry-level talent interested in jump-starting their career in a particular field. A hybrid work structure may or may not be available.

      DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
      The Casting team oversees all of the casting for scripted series on all Sony Pictures Television shows. We work with agents, managers, casting directors, and network executives daily.


      RESPONSIBILITIES:
      Trainee responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

      • The Casting Process: Observing and participating in the casting process
      • Researching actors for our shows, creating lists for upcoming series
      • Tracking new and up-and-coming actors.
      • Assisting executives in tests, table reads, tech-savvy and studio sessions
      • Anticipating office needs, learning how to one day be an assistant
      • Being a very important part of our very small department
      • Executive expenses, scheduling, data entry

      The trainee will gain experience/exposure to the following:

      • How to cast a show
      • Studio Tests
      • Table Reads
      • Run through of our comedy
      • Exposure to all other creative departments at Sony Television

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Passion and focus on casting
      • Experience in basic Microsoft Office
      • Interest in entertainment, television, and acting
      • Web/tech savvy, proficient in Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other social media such as Instagram
      • Good eye for talent
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Casting Experience

      The anticipated base salary for this position is $22/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
