- Performing a high volume and increasing variety of administrative tasks within our HR system (Workday) within a “shared services” model.
- Partnering with our internal Talent stakeholders (including Product, Service, and Infrastructure teams) to find shared solutions for Shopifolk problems.
- Responding to, actioning, triaging, and escalating requests through our internal support channels (such as email, Slack, or our ticketing system) and connecting with Shopifolk both live and asynchronously as needed.
- Providing escalated support for the APAC region; a key connector between Talent Products and Talent Services.
- Supporting our Talent partners and leadership team from a back office perspective, ensuring all employees and groups are reflective of reality and data accurate in our systems (such as Workday)
- Supporting our Talent Business Partners and Recruiters in their day-to-day tasks, supporting system changes, and other administrative work within our HR & Recruitment systems (Workday, SmartRecruiters, etc)
- Creating and maintaining the quality and accessibility of our internal Talent-facing knowledge base (Guru, Google Productivity Suite, and other tooling)
- Focusing on efficiency of process execution and continually asking and answering the question, “How can we make this process better?”
- Responding to, actioning, triaging, and escalating requests through our internal support channels (such as email, Slack, or our ticketing system) and connecting with Shopifolk both live and asynchronously as needed.
- Flexing to support high-priority business initiatives across the Talent organization as needed.
- Actively contribute to regional projects and initiatives that will improve the operational excellence of Talent Support Operations in APAC.
- Previous exposure to a Talent/HR environment, either through academic or professional experience
- Proficiency using and adapting to new technology tools - you’re very tech savvy.
- Formidable attention to detail, and a passion for ensuring accuracy of data.
- Ability to operate at a high level of self-direction and independence; we work in a high-trust environment at Shopify.
- Resolute problem solver, with the desire and ability to take initiative to find solutions.
- Excellent multi-tasking ability - you will be pulled in many different directions at once.
- Proven resourcefulness and comfort working within ambiguity.
- Deep “T-shaped” expertise in the region across the full employee lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust and strong relationships with the team you work with

- Deep care for your work and high level of empathy for stakeholders and employees
- Prior professional experience within the coordination craft; working towards HR related qualifications considered an asset;
- Proficiency with our HRIS (Workday) or our technology stack (Google Productivity Suite; SmartRecruiters; Degreed, Fellow).
- Prior experience working in an international organisation supporting employees and other stakeholders across different cultures and timezones
- Proficiency in additional languages that represent a core Shopify entity - particularly Japanese

Role Overview:
Talent Coordinators are the front-line of Talent for all Shopifolk. Talent Coordinators oversee an ever-expanding portfolio of Talent Products, Services, and Infrastructure aimed at a singular purpose - creating an effortless Talent support experience. Between maintaining data integrity in our HRIS (Workday), solving sticky operational problems, or responding to incoming communications - Talent Coordinators are there to help.
The Talent Coordinator isn’t afraid of change; rather, you embrace it! You take pride in crafting an exceptional and effortless experience for our Shopifolk. We are building a world-class Talent service. This is Talent Support Operations.
