- University degree with a specialization in Human Resources or an equivalent acceptable combination of education and experience
- Three years’ experience managing full-cycle recruitment and experience implementing onboarding and training and development programs, including mentorship programs
- Highly successful experience sourcing candidates, including the passive job seeker
- Experience writing clear and compelling job postings and effective interview questions
- A proven record of accomplishment in developing and managing professional relationships at all levels required
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, applicant tracking systems and LinkedIn
- IT savvy, including a facility for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with databases and web-based applications
- Professional and polished presenter, with exceptional oral, written communication and active listening skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and project management skills and the ability to deliver high quality work while managing competing deadlines
- Strong relationship management and networking skills
- Highly creative, self-directed and a motivated team player
- Must have an excellent client service orientation and demonstrate initiative, diplomacy and discretion
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both in a consultative team environment and independently
- Ability to interact with senior managers and academic administrators in a manner that generates their attention and respect, facilitates cooperation and achieves consensus
- Ability to quickly grasp requirements of collective agreements and recruitment policies and practices of the University of Toronto; highly skilled at providing value-added strategic advice aligned with employment legislation and internal policies and procedures
- Ability to manage competing demands, accept feedback, and be adaptable and flexible
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
