      The Department of Human Resources (DHR) seeks to hire a Human Resources Manager I (HRMI) Talent Team Supervisor, who is inspirational, hands-on, and well-rounded as a Human Resources (HR) professional. This person will come with authentic passion for candidate friendly and efficient recruitment activities that are conducted with an equity lens. Whether you’re a current King County employee or you are bringing experience from another organization, this role will require a seasoned professional who is committed to inclusive leadership and making a lasting impact.

      Reporting to the King County Talent Acquisition Manager, this role will be a key member of the Talent Acquisition team and will accomplish outcomes through effective collaboration with others. They will lead efforts to identify and standardize best practices, develop and deliver training to support standard work, and make quality improvements to ensure excellence in the delivery of recruitment services.

      The successful candidate will be a skilled leader with deep experience performing and overseeing the delivery of talent solutions. They will understand how to leverage training and data to advance our organizational recruitment objectives. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead with empathy and integrity.

      Some of the regular duties of the role will include:

      • Lead recruitment process improvement efforts, including proactive issue identification and resolution within our applicant tracking system (ATS).
      • Provide daily supervision and oversight to the Talent team.
      • Serve as the back-up for the King County Talent Acquisition Manager as needed.
      • Manage programs and/or initiatives in support of County employment as required.
      • Provide expert consultation on recruitment and selection activities that require HR generalist knowledge including employment, labor relations, training, recruitment, classification/compensation, and performance management.
      • Interpret and apply recruitment related County and/or HR policy and practices, labor agreements, and local/federal employment law.
      • Promote an organizational culture that is focused on a shared mission, fosters continuous improvement (LEAN), and embraces equity and social justice for employees and the community.

      • Training and Development: Design and deliver recruitment training to enhance HR capacity and standardize equitable recruitment practices.

      Desired Qualifications

      • Recruitment in the Public Sector
      • Experience conducting executive recruitments
      • Expert level proficiency with NEOGOV Insight
      • Private sector recruiting experience to include cold calling
      • Project management experience
      • Outreach and/or marketing campaign development

      Qualifications

      • Six years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources with a primary focus on recruitment to include:
        • Two or more years in a role with primary duties including supervision of recruiters and
        • Two or more years in a role with primary duties including developing and facilitating recruitment and selection training for professional human resource staff on

      or

      • An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work effectively.
