      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Support all aspects of the tax function, including investment tax and income tax matters for compliance and accounting/reporting
      - Document and apply tax technical concepts to relevant investment areas, including various asset classes and tax forms
      - Prepare federal and state income tax returns and related workpapers for life and non-life entities
      - Support federal and state income tax audits, including data gathering and drafting responses for information requests
      - Assist with ad hoc projects and the indirect tax function as needed

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance
      - Minimum 1-3 years of income tax accounting and compliance experience
      - Strong accounting and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks
      - Experience with life insurance industry and tax accounting (ASC 740, SSAP 101)
      - Working proficiency with tax software (e.g., Corptax) and investment accounting systems (PAM for Investments)

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or eligibility/desire to become certified
      - Experience in a tax practice of a major accounting firm
      - Ability to synthesize large data sets using tools such as MS Excel, Access, Alteryx, or PowerBI
      - Experience with tax accounting and compliance for a wide range of investment types
      - Strong communication skills, both oral and written
