What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Facilitate the launch of the remote Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, including recruitment and outreach
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of the VITA site during tax season, providing technical support to volunteers
- Conduct quality reviews and electronically file tax returns
- Complete IRS Link and Learn tax training at the Advanced level and assist with program data collection
- Ensure compliance with IRS and VITA program policies and IRC policies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent years of related work experience and education
- Previous experience as a VITA volunteer strongly preferred
- Previous experience with personal income tax preparation strongly preferred
- Excellent customer service skills and experience working with a diverse client base
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a non-profit organization
- Familiarity with TaxSlayer software highly preferred
- High level of comfort and effectiveness in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams
