      What You’ll Do:

      Works under general direction and requires considerable knowledge of teacher education:

      • Provides instruction in basic fundamental of building maintenance (e.g., plumbing, electrical, masonry, carpentry, roofing, drywall repair) and individual assistance.
      • Assesses educational needs of inmates.
      • Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training.
      • Provides instruction and individual assistance.
      • Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators.
      • Maintains discipline and/or security.
      • Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems.
      • Attends meetings as required.
      • Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress).
      • Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed.
      • Researches, selects and recommends new teaching materials.
      • Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development, performs other duties as assigned.

      This position prefers the candidate to receive a license to teach Plumbing from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. Candidates must demonstrate at least five years experience in the plumbing trade or equivalent training or certification in the plumbing trades.
