      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Teach undergraduate and graduate music education methods and related courses
      - Interact with local public-school teachers and mentor student teachers
      - Advise undergraduate and master’s theses and research projects
      - Maintain regular, reliable, and collegial attendance
      - Participate in departmental needs and initiatives

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Terminal degree in Music Education from an accredited institution by the date of initial appointment
      - 3-5 years of demonstrated public-school experience with expertise in general music pedagogy
      - Ability to create and maintain collegial relationships
      - Commitment to fostering a welcoming climate and nurturing creativity
      - Regular and reliable attendance

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Specialized training or certifications in general music pedagogies (e.g., Orff, Kodaly)
      - Significant experience in university teaching and student-teacher supervision
      - Active involvement in professional organizations related to music education
      - Understanding of 21st-century classroom technologies and teaching strategies
      - Ability to contribute in a secondary area such as music therapy or instrument performance
