      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Teach undergraduate and graduate music education methods, accommodating departmental needs
      - Interact with local public-school teachers and supervise student teachers
      - Advise undergraduate honors theses and master’s theses, along with research projects
      - Maintain regular, reliable attendance and foster collegial relationships within the department
      - Contribute to the academic community by enhancing the excellence of the university’s music program

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Terminal degree in Music Education from an accredited institution by the date of initial appointment
      - A minimum of 3-5 years of public-school experience with expertise in general music pedagogy
      - Demonstrated ability to create and maintain harmonious working relationships
      - Proven record of effective teaching in music education at the university level
      - Commitment to fostering a welcoming climate and supporting student engagement

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Specialized training/certifications in general music pedagogies (e.g., Orff, Kodaly, Dalcroze)
      - Significant experience in supervising student teachers and advising graduate students
      - Active involvement in professional music education organizations
      - Understanding of 21st-century classroom technologies and innovative teaching strategies
      - Ability to contribute in secondary areas such as music therapy or instrumental performance
