What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Teach undergraduate courses in psychology, including research methods and statistics
- Direct honors thesis and independent research students, and serve on honors thesis committees
- Mentor undergraduate students and contribute to departmental service activities
- Maintain an ongoing program of research that involves undergraduate students
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with faculty on research initiatives
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ph.D. or terminal degree in Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated record of high-quality teaching effectiveness as an instructor of record for undergraduate psychology courses
- Evidence of successful scholarship in Psychology, including presentations at national conferences and peer-reviewed publications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain collegial relationships
- Up-to-date knowledge in the field of Psychology, including statistics and research methods
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Record of scholarly service to the field, department, college, or university
- Experience mentoring undergraduates in research, particularly in research-focused courses
- Dedication to teaching excellence, including participation in workshops or conferences
- Evidence of teaching methods that promote institutional belonging
- Experience seeking internal or extramural funding for research or teaching
