      The Opportunity

      Vermilion Energy has an exciting opportunity within the US Business Unit, seeking a Team Lead, Asset Team. Based in Denver, CO office, this role will report directly to the Managing Director, US Business Unit and be an integral part of the US organization. This role will be responsible for the technical leadership of the USBU Asset team to manage the base production, develop Vermilion’s assets and support growth opportunities. The successful candidate will join a team that values its people and provides work with purpose.

      What you will do

      • Coordinate the capital budget process for the USBU;

      • Generate and evaluate drilling opportunities including productivity, reserves, costs, timing and risk value determination;

      • Ensure all projects have the appropriate approvals in place for execution;

      • Identify opportunities and priorities for inclusion in the annual capital budget process;

      • Initiate, monitor and optimize the depletion strategies of USBU assets;

      • Co-ordinate yearly development plan update for the USBU and seek executive approval;

      • Apply expertise to the sourcing and evaluation of acquisition and divesture opportunities including business proposals and economic evaluations that incorporate an understanding of taxes, royalties, joint venture deal terms and other related considerations;

      • Provide recommendations on the completion, re-completion and optimization of existing wells;

      • Manage base volumes with the goal of improving well performance, minimizing downtime and protecting equipment;

      • Identify and implement CAPEX and OPEX cost improvements;

      • Coordinate with the Operations and Facilities Teams to optimize short and long term infrastructure needs (tie-in routes, gathering systems, compression, dehydration, etc.);

      • Maintain working relationship with non-op partners to ensure we are aware of their programs and influence them as necessary;

      • Monitor competitor activity and ensure aware of industry trends;

      • Complete quarterly KPI reviews;

      • Estimate, maintain and ensure the accuracy and integrity of corporate reserves across the USBU asset base;

      • Conduct presentations to executive management, partners, and government bodies as required;

      • Support the Team Lead, Land by assessing development potential and generating recommendations regarding land postings and bid levels; assess expiring lands recommending lease/title extensions as required and recommend lands for farm-out, where appropriate;

      • Champion Vermilion’s Health, Safety and Environmental program at the team and extended team level.

      Leadership Responsibilities

      • Direct team daily work activities and provide ongoing feedback;

      • Provide technical leadership to the team with the intent of meeting objectives in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner;

      • Monitor team work progress and performance and communicate status to the manager;

      • Coordinate team meetings in the office and field, as required;

      • Provide recognition and champion recognition activities;

      • Identify resource constraints and source additional help when necessary through the recruitment of contract and / or permanent staff positions;

      • Draft job postings for new team positions, attend interviews with the manager and provide input into the recommended candidate for hire;

      • Co-ordinate team and individual objectives, performance ratings and areas for personal development;

      • Ensure team members roles and responsibilities are understood;

      • Implement ideas to improve team effectiveness.

      What you will bring

      • Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering

      • 10+ years industry experience within the Oil and Gas Industry

      • Powder River Basin Experience Preferred

      • Advanced ability in Mosiac Asset Management software

      • Knowledge of COGEH guidelines for Estimation and Classification of Oil and Gas Resources and Reserves

      • Excellent working knowledge of industry regulations, standards and practices relevant to US operations

      • Able to deal with multiple tasks which may be regular or complex;

      • Technical proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

      • Possesses the ability to work with all levels of the organization and to communicate HSE requirements in a positive manner to all field personnel

      What we offer

      • Competitive base salary and bonus

      • The salary range offered for this role is $175,000 to $235,000. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job related education, training, and/or experience
