Job Description

- Performing data migration, data interchange, reporting, and analysis.
- Implementing requested changes to core applications and databases by developing new software solutions from studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage and work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the software development lifecycle.
- Working with users to establish functional and technical requirements, designing and programming software applications or system modifications and then performing testing and implementation.
- Studying system flow, data usage, and work processes, as well as investigating problem areas.
- Maintaining data models, data integrity, and data security.
- Building and developing EDI (electronic data interchange) bridges.
- Performing data reporting and analysis.
- Developing self-service and ad hoc reports.
- Developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting SQL code.
- Analyzing assignment requirements and defining software development tasks.
- Object oriented programming concepts including encapsulation, abstraction, inheritance and polymorphism;
- Batch scripting; and
- Source code management tools.
Description
Responsible for analyzing, designing, building, maintaining, and continuously improving the Company's core databases and applications with a particular focus on Systems Engineering for our complex database applications and systems. Specific duties include:

Position requires a Master's degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Physics or Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field and experience, which can include academic research and coursework and internship experience, with the following:
Must also have strong problem solving and communication skills. This is a telecommuting position working from home. May reside anywhere in the United States.
