Job Description

- Review and oversee project pass-off from the development team into the sample room workflow.
- Allocate sample room resources according to project priorities and timeline.
- Ensure that all sample shoes produced in the sample room are manufactured according to specifications provided by the development team.
- Provide management of machine set-up timeline and all key machine trainings.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager to prioritize timelines and projects in accordance with team objectives; set and enforce timelines for different projects.
- Creation of high-quality samples and custom-made products for by means of various work processes in cutting, sewing and shoe production.
- Cutting, engraving and milling by means of modern laser technologies and exchange of laser accessories.
- Processing of specific modifications in custom-made products and technical support on existing inline shoes (e.g. for test person studies).
- Operation of computer programs necessary for the respective machine applications (including atom cutters, lasers, embroidery programs, C/S automated sewing of shaft parts, vacuum sublimation prints (VSP), graphics / application cutters and basics in Rhino).
- Manage a database of technical information required for the shoe development processes and technical interface areas.
- Integrate, evaluate and implement new machine equipment in the development processes.
- Inform and log technical problems related to all products (e.g. problems with shaft templates, fit of outsoles/midsoles, material problems) that occur during the manufacturing processes in order to be able to make effective rapid changes to the product for implementation.
- Maintenance and care of all machine equipment.
- Maintaining and updating the material warehouse with the associated sample catalogues.
- Support interdepartmental collaboration with all technical departments (Mock-up/Knit) to ensure assistance in the production of high quality prototypes.
- Provide update of project status to cross functional teams.
- Identify weaknesses in the group's working process, evaluate the results against targets on a regular basis and take all steps necessary to keep the group focused.
- Ability to stitch and assemble footwear.
- Technical understanding of production machines
- Comprehensive knowledge of shoemaking processes, techniques, materials and technologies.
- Excellent organization and written/verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe computer programs.
- Team and communication skills
- Ability to work with Solvents, Chemicals, Polyurethane, Epoxy, Silicones and other materials following respective health and safety regulations.
- Ability to identify design issues and offer solutions to improve functionality and manufacturability of product.
- Ability to work independently under a deadline on several projects simultaneously with minimal input.
- Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot errors with mechanical equipment following instructed maintenance training.
- Ability to work in a shop environment and be comfortable working with industrial machinery.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- College or university degree with a focus on industrial design and/or project management preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years related hands on making experience in the footwear industry

- Employees are eligible to earn an annual bonus based on both company and personal performance. - The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $71,000-$116,000. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, proficiency for the role.
- We officially returned to office in a hybrid work environment, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The working location of this position is LA
- Though our teammates hail from all corners of the world, our working language is English.
Purpose:
Work as a hands-on making leader for WRKSHP:079 as directed by the Senior Manager.
Collaborate with Senior Manager of Footwear Creation to establish team workflow and schedule based on project priorities and timeline. Communicate with development and factory partners to maintain visibility and alignment between teams.
