      The role
      As a Technical Operations and Maintenance Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll have direct responsibility as line manager for the technical authorship and administration teams.

      Day-to-day, you’ll have a responsibility to ensure that all documentation required to deliver Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) products are prepared, and supplied in a timely manner, and identifying methodologies to repair and improve the RWM facilities.

      • Ensuring that all documentation required to deliver radioactive waste management operations and maintenance products are prepared and supplied in a timely manner
      • Developing and implementing suitable processes and training to always ensure compliance with related identified operating instructions, and to ensure all persons involved with operations controlled within the Nuclear Operations Maintenance Managers (NOMM) sphere of influence are competent and trained to do so
      • To assist the RWM Authorisation Group by providing professional advice on the facility plant and systems, including writing reports and verification of documents
      • To be the direct line manager of the technical authorship and administrative team ensuring statement of conformance conditions are met and Appointed Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (ASQEP) responsibilities are accepted and governed on behalf of the NOMM
      • To act as an ASQEP on behalf of the NOMM RWM, to include responsibilities including a sponsoring and ownership of RWM operations and maintenance documentation

      This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

      Essential experience of the Technical Operations and Maintenance Manager

      • Understand and interpret a variety of technical documents and drawings
      • Appreciation, understanding and experience of working in a regulated environment
      • Appreciation, understanding and experience of working in industrial areas and the associated hazards
      • Technical operations relating to nuclear and radiological activities - Desirable
      • Maintenance of facilities and equipment to support industrial activities both nuclear and non-nuclear - Desirable
      • Industrial operations on regulated/licenced sites - Desirable

      Qualifications for the Technical Operations and Maintenance Manager

      • NVQ Level 5 in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience

      Security Clearance
      The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
