      Overview

      The Technical Services Engineering Manager will manage a team of automation engineers focused on providing service support for Graham Packaging globally. This manager will be responsible for developing experts that will resolve and prevent problems in the field. The position requires an individual with a strong background in electrical engineering/automation leadership that can implement good engineering practices.

      Responsibilities

      • Manage the resource schedule for a team of technical service engineers
      • Manage all Automation service request via Links
      • Develop expertise and provide support for GPC proprietary equipment
        • Graham Wheel
        • VR Wheel
        • Universal IML (uIML)
        • Tornado Leak Tester
        • Positive Take Out units (PTO’s)
      • Provide support for non GPC proprietary equipment
        • Remote support
        • Dispatch service engineer for emergencies
        • Dispatch service engineer for scheduled work
        • Provide contacts for additional resources
      • Responsible for quality of service
      • Create best practices and standard work instructions for the team
      • Will be responsible for small to mid-size control upgrades
        • Downstream equipment upgrades
        • Resin control upgrades
        • Antiquated control systems migration and upgrades
      • Will be responsible to support/assist with line/equipment relocation projects
        • Ensure work is completed to standard and on schedule
        • Advise project management team in making critical decisions that affect the line/equipment
      • Responsible for maintaining an environment that increases the engineers’ engagement, and encourages career development.

      Qualifications

      • Expert in the engineering of electrical components and assemblies
      • Expert in applying systematic problem solving in an engineering environment
      • Expert in authoring technical reports, documents, white papers
      • Extensive knowledge in managing and developing a team of engineering professionals
      • Extensive knowledge in driving change, including design standards and engineering best practices, through a technical organization
      • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principals
      • Able to develop technically rigorous engineering studies
      • Expert knowledge of electrical control systems
      • Extensive knowledge of project management for mid-size to large projects
      • Strong communication skills
      • Expert electrical troubleshooting skills
      • Advance knowledge of hydraulics and electro / mechanical systems
      • Advance knowledge of PID control (functionality and tuning)

      Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering
      • 5+ years in a management role for a team of electrical engineers at a company known for high quality engineering work
      • 15+ years engineering experience working directly with electrical control systems for a high paced manufacturing company
      • Experience working as a design engineer in an environment that applied good engineering practices
      • Experience reviewing and approving electrical engineering schematics

      The standard compensation for this role is $107,900 - $161,800. Salary offers will be determined based on final candidate qualifications, experience, skillset, and other relevant factors.

      Compensation Statement

      The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
