1.0 Objectives of this Role
• Reviews, copyedits, and updates software design documentation and reports using templates as a guide
• Understands, implements, and educates other on Quality System requirements as it relates documentation and change management.
• Performs change management for software documentation
• Tracks and reports on information for multiple projects and documents
• Works closely with engineers, managers, and authors to prepare,review, and adjudicate feedback
• Develops, maintains, and expands teams’ knowledge base website with the goal of unifying disparate and ancillary team websites
• Helps create and manage software requirements style guide and team workflows
2.0 Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
• Researches, creates, and maintains information architecture templates that allow for easy data migration
• Develops and edits content for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation
• Coordinates, schedules, and reports on technical reviews
• Maintains libraries effectively with a keen eye for organization
• Tracks independent tasks, internal team, and project work within JIRA
• Monitors a shared inbox for requests from engineers and other cross-functional teams
• Performs database entry and management for software requirements, analyzes information, and compiles it into a software requirement specification
• Creates templates, instructions, PowerPoints, and/or spreadsheets as needed to support project and team initiatives
• Disseminates relevant information on behalf of managers and team.
• Facilitates and coordinates communication among diverse cross- functional teams.
3.0 Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• 2-4 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer
• Prior experience / understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
• High aptitude learning and applying software application functionality
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced user of Microsoft Office Tools Suite (Word, Excel)
4.0 Preferred Qualifications
• Certificate in Technical Writing from STC or university
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Database management experience
• Familiar with SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA or more generically,
document libraries and issue tracking systems
