What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure appropriate coding for telehealth consultations
- Review and analyze documentation in medical records for inpatient and outpatient visits
- Determine appropriate charge and modifier assignments as described by the physician(s) of record
- Abide by the Standards of Ethical Coding and adhere to official coding guidelines
- Maintain expert knowledge of telehealth regulations across multiple states
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of five years of coding experience in a medical setting
- Certification as CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist-Physician based), CPC (Certified Professional Coder), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technologist), or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) if required
