What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Audit and remediate digital content including PDF documents, web pages, and online applications to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards
- Coordinate training programs to build staff capacity for creating and publishing accessible content
- Provide technical assistance and support to staff regarding document accessibility
- Establish accessibility standards and workflows for digital publishing
- Collaborate with internal teams to align compliance strategies and reporting
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in human-centered design, information management, communication (digital media), or English, or equivalent education and experience
- At least one year of experience in document remediation and user experience related to accessibility
- Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA and accessibility compliance standards
- Hands-on experience with document remediation tools such as Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical staff
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- IAAP Certification such as Accessible Document Specialist (ADS) or Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC)
- Experience developing and leading training programs in digital accessibility
- Background in user experience (UX), human-centered design, or usability testing
- Familiarity with web usability and web content management systems
- Ability to train users in new technologies, both individually and in a classroom setting
