      Background

      We are looking for an intern who would assist in researching and developing AI tools, processes and applications for the purposes of terminology work. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience within an international non-profit organization, gaining an insight into terminology processes at CLEAR Global.


      Objectives

      This initiative is meant to

      1. Support the Terminology Officer and CLEAR Global in researching and developing AI applications for terminology work, especially:
        • automating terminology extraction from source texts
        • developing AI applications for term translation
        • AI-enhanced collection of domain terminology
      2. Develop community capacity and interest in AI enhanced terminology processes and products to generate sustainable resources.


      The role

      To assist the CLEAR Global Team in researching and developing AI tools, processes and applications for the purposes of terminology work at TWB, with the aim of automating terminology-related processes as much as possible and thus expanding our capacity to support programs and projects at CLEAR Global with up-to-date and precise terminology resources.


      Responsibilities

      • Research available AI tools and applications suitable for terminology work
      • Develop automated processes to handle terminology extraction from source texts
      • Develop AI enhanced processes for term translation
      • Develop AI enhanced support for the TWB community in developing domain glossaries
      • Document AI tools and applications in SOPs
      • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders throughout the internship
      • Handle other related tasks as assigned
      • Act in the best interest of the organization during the internship period.

      Qualifications

      • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university degree program (a degree in terminology, language, translation, development, or a related field is preferred).
      • Excellent command of English. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage
      • Understanding of and willingness to explore AI tools and applications
      • Previous experience in translation and/or terminology (internships and volunteering are considered valid experiences) is desirable;
      • Previous experience working with non-profit organizations is desirable;
      • Knowledge of CAT tools is a plus.
