      Remote job opportunity overseeing a target sales territory.

      SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

      Responsible for selling and supporting the full array of Crown Battery’s SLI battery products, along with other allied product lines and services. The Territory Sales Representative qualifies and closes new customers and executes an action plan to retain and grow existing business within the assigned territory. The role is subject to annual sales goal assignments by SLI sales management and focuses primarily on customers within the territory who service, support, or operate commercial applications, recreational vehicles, rental equipment, or power management equipment.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

      1. Directly identifies, qualifies, and develops business with new SLI customers in the territory. Conducts joint sales calls with authorized channel representatives to develop and secure new business.
      2. Develop and execute an annual sales plan for the assigned territory to achieve assigned goals and objectives.
      3. Manages activities to maintain and retain existing business within the assigned territory.
      4. Networks with decision-makers in targeted client organizations to motivate them to choose Crown Battery’s products.
      5. Protects Crown Battery from competitive threats within the territory by following competitive developments and informing Sales Management about risks.
      6. Maintains a working knowledge of applications and customer solutions. Looks for application and process training opps.
      7. Acts as a liaison between the sales territory and Crown Battery’s corporate operations.
      8. Assists management with long-range territory planning: monthly, quarterly, annual, and other forecasts.

      COMPETENCIES:

      • Demonstrated sales skillset to independently prospect assigned territory, sales territory organization; and market or target account identification.
      • Strong verbal skills and ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers, and supervision.
      • Must be able to maintain high levels of productivity through careful time management and use of company resources.
      • Demonstrated competencies with office PC’s, Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Teams, and Word.
      • Must have a complete understanding of lead battery technology, with emphasis on SLI batteries.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT:

      This role is office based. The position will require extensive outside travel within the territory, estimated to include up to 80 percent of time spent calling on existing or prospective customers within the territory to support the objective of this position. Time in the office is expected for administrative tasks or assigned projects.

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

      The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

      • The role requires operating over-the-road vehicles for prolonged periods. It is expected that the role includes working in a stationary position, often sitting or standing, for prolonged periods
      • The role requires handling of lead battery products [potential weights in excess of 50 pounds] and may require the use of PPE and lifting apparatus to support customer requirements.

      POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

      • This is a full-time position.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

      • 4 to 5 years’ experience in a commercial or industrial products sales environment with a demonstrated record of success.
      • 4-year college or technical school degree.
      • Outside sales experience in the SLI Battery Industry, Automotive Aftermarket, Truck & Heavy-Duty Aftermarket or Material
      • Handling Industry
      • Strong business to business support role experience; effective verbal and written communication skills, professional
      • demeanor, and attitude in challenging situations.
      • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
