Job Description

- Triage, process and QC Third-Party Payment setup and change requests by interpreting contracts, fee schedules and payment request forms to ensuring the request is in good order before processing across all segments and plan types in the Empower Recordkeeping System
- Participate in the administration of the special allowance payment programs that are offered
- Question setup inconsistencies, e.g. contract/fee schedule does not support the payment and non-standard requests
- Ensure a consistent high level of service and quality is achieved by intervening as needed to ensure our internal partners and external customers are getting their needs met.
- Provide and coordinate the necessary data and direction to internal teams to complete TPA fee set up and plan expense account reallocations
- Inquires or questions, may be received via telephone, during internal and external customer meetings, Service Request or via email
- Take ownership and drive outstanding items to resolution by following up with applicable teams, contacts or by effectively utilizing systems to research payments issues at the plan and or participant level
- Collaborate and consult with multiple internal partners across the organization, including Relationship Management, Client Service, Fees & Billing, Implementation, Deconversions, Money In, Money Out, Plan Change, Fund and Fee Change Set Up Teams, Technology and Sr. Leadership; as well as our external customers, including: Brokers, Broker Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors, Advisory Firm, TPA's, Plan Sponsors and other third parties that payments could be made to
- Research and resolve all open items in SAP related to outstanding payables
- Create formulas and utilize other functions in Excel to calculate special manual payments or adjustments; QC large volumes of work and determine differences as needed for issue resolution
- Analyze and interpret legal agreements, fee schedules, plan directives, and payment request forms to ensure payments can be supported as requested prior to set up
- Utilize multiple systems including EASY, SAP, WEBI, PRISM, OnBase, CIRRUS, Blackline, PSC, Avaya One X and Microsoft Office
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, Finance, related field, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years' experience in mutual fund, broker dealer back office or accounts payable/ accounting experience
- Fingerprinting required
- Results oriented with ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency meeting all expected deadlines
- Intermediate Excel, Word and Access skills preferred
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse audience
- EASY, CIRRUS and SAP experience preferred
- Problem solver, attention to detail and independent thinker

The Third-Party Payments Specialist is responsible for understanding, set up and execution of payment structures for all lines of retirement services business. Responsibilities include reviewing contracts, fee schedules and payment request forms; setting up one-time, ongoing, and specialized manual payments; provide data and direction to internal partners for fee set up and plan expense account reallocations; respond to inquiries from both internal partners and external customers. This is a client facing position with all activity having direct client and financial impact as well as regulatory and participant/plan reporting.

Base Salary Range
$48,300.00 - $66,450.00
The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
