West Saint Paul, Mendota Heights, Eagan School District (ISD 197) is excited to announce the Thrive with Us scholarship program through Metropolitan State University!

We are accepting applications for a fully paid educational opportunity beginning on March 21, 2024; the application deadline is Sunday, April 17, 2024.

The Thrive with Us scholarship program will be awarded to two students and two employees interested in obtaining a teaching license.

The General Education Scholarship is open to staff and students of color and will focus on urban education for kindergarten through sixth grade.

The Special Education Scholarship is open to all staff and students and will focus on special education at all levels (preschool, elementary, secondary, and transition).

How will we Support you?

You will be part of a unique cohort of 3 other individuals going through the program with you. You will have a district mentor and teacher mentor and receive monthly opportunities for observations in classrooms throughout the district.

You will also have time for the cohort to meet at different locations throughout the district to work on projects.

You will have monthly check-ins with staff from the Human Resources and Special Education departments.

Student Teaching will be assigned to ISD 197.

Details are as follows:
- Must start: Fall 2024
- Must attend: Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, MN
- Must enroll: General Education or Special Education Teaching Program
- Scholarship covers: Tuition, fees, and materials
- There is a stipend for additional expenses and student teaching.

To apply, you must either be a current employee or a current senior of Two Rivers High School.

After graduation, you must return to ISD 197 to teach for three years.

The application process includes:
- Formal interview with an interview panel
- Presentation of "Your Why"
- Equity and Inclusion discussion with other applicants

Interviews will be held beginning the week of April 22, 2024.

To receive the Thrive with Us Scholarship, you must fully enroll in Metropolitan State University, receive acceptance, and sign the Thrive with Us Scholarship contract. You must also attend the ceremony dinner and give a short presentation.
