Salary listed is 23-24 Salary Schedule. Salary for 2024-2025 is TBD. JOB TITLE: TOSA: K-5 Instructional Coach FTE: 1.0 GENERAL DUTIES SUMMARY: Coach and support teachers and teacher teams to enhance instruction and student achievement through the use of research based, best practice pedagogy. Build the culture of coaching within the building and across the district. Collaborate with Teaching & Learning Department personnel to provide training, mentoring, coaching, and curriculum articulation and alignment for K-12 teachers. Deliver personalized, job-embedded professional development on effective, research-based teaching strategies, assessment strategies and classroom management strategies using data to inform instruction Coach teachers in effective analysis of disaggregated assessment data and help to design actions to eliminate the achievement and opportunity gaps present within the system Collaborate with principal and teacher teams to:utilize i-Ready interim assessment data, formative and unit assessments, Common Core State Standards, TTSD Technology Plan and TTSD curricula to support, design and develop instructional strategies and assessment literacy to impact student outcomes and eliminate the achievement gap. partner with teachers in the implementation of research based instructional strategies into teaching practices and instructional units through coaching cycles on an individual and team basis model use of innovative tools and instructional strategies to enhance instruction via co-planning, co-teaching and in-class coaching Support teachers in their understanding of the state standards and alignment of curriculum with the state standards Daily observation, coaching, modeling and/or co-teaching in classrooms while providing non-evaluative feedback to colleagues Collaborate with district teachers and administrators as a member of building level Instructional Leadership Teams to align curriculum and instructional priorities K-12 Utilize best practices to design, implement and evaluate professional learning activities delivered to TTSD teaching staff Work collaboratively with other coaches, district-level TOSAs, principals and district administrators to build capacity with school teams Work collaboratively to develop instructional practices that are viable and guaranteed in all TTSD classrooms. Collaborate with building leadership to design and implement professional learning within the building Must be able and willing to perform extended responsibilities to design and deliver professional development to teaching staff during the summer months when necessary Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum: Hold valid Oregon teaching license Hold a valid Oregon driver license and have available vehicle. Must have a bachelor’s degree Must have an Oregon teaching license Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience teaching. Expertise and demonstrated capacity to train educators in best practice instructional delivery methods Bilingual required (for Two-Way Immersion schools) EFFECTIVE AND DEMONSTRATED SKILLS IN: Effective teaching strategies Presenting to small and large group for staff development Passion for expecting and supporting quality teaching and learning Collection, analysis and use of data for decision-making Leadership Proven commitment to racial equity Communication, both written and oral Collaboration with administrators to improve instruction Interpersonal skills with individuals, teams and groups (student, parent, educator, specialist, administrator and support staff) Gaining consensus in groups and among various audiences Providing curriculum and instructional strategy consultation Time management Problem-solving and development of solutions Planning and facilitating meetings Being a lifelong learner WORKING CONDITIONS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
