      Job summary

      This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to start their career & join our high performing Coding team at Rotherham as a Trainee Clinical Coder. The right candidate is enthusiastic with a passion for learning & continuing professional development. If you are well organised with attention to detail, the ability to work as part of a busy team & remain calm when working to deadlines then we would love to hear from you. This is an 18 month development role. Post holders who meet milestones will transition to a full time Clinical Coder role & subsequently an Accredited Clinical Coder role on completion of the National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ). We will be hosting a drop-in open day to showcase the development pathway for the Clinical Coder role - attendance is encouraged. 2nd June 2025 1-3pm Clinical Coding breakout room, TRFT If you are unable to make the open day please get in touch to discuss. What we offer: A 21-day Clinical Coding Standards Course & comprehensive training & mentoring support. You will learn how to extract clinical information from patient records to identify diagnoses & procedures in line with national standards. You will be supported to sit the National Clinical Coding Qualification within three years in post. Flexible approach to varied work patterns.       Main duties of the job

      Responsibility for providing an accurate, timely & consistent clinical coding service to support the business needs of the Trust in line with departmental and national deadlines.Analyse, interpret & abstract relevant information (including complex conditions and treatments) from patients' medical record using ICD10 & OPCS Classifications adhering to national & local standards.To provide accurate information to support Healthcare Resource Groups in facilitating the Payment by Results process within the NHS.Responsibility for engaging with external stakeholders including clinical & administrative staff to resolve queries & ensure high accuracy of clinical coding.Maintain accuracy while working under pressure to meet deadlines.Please Note: There will be a longlisting process, candidates who meet the post requirements will be invited to a coding aptitude test. Those who are successful in the test will be invited to interview.
