      Job summary

      The Remediation team reviews checks that have failed certain systemic validation criteria. They compare the information present on the Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) line of the checks or deposits with the data file (captured information) and make repairs/corrections as required. The fields reviewed include routing number, check number, account number and dollar amount. The scope of repair includes checks received through deposit-friendly ATMs, eATMs, Quick Deposit and the Virtual Payment Center (VPC). More than 79 million items are repaired each year at processing sites in Fort Worth, Texas, and Bengaluru, India. Remediation has approximately 44 employees.

      As a Remediation Transaction Specialist II, you will be reviewing images of paper items on a computer (such as checks), verifying, and correcting the information that is captured electronically via the 10-key section of your keyboard. This will include correcting the dollar amount, routing number, account number, check number, and in some cases the payee's name. Much of your day will be spend doing numeric data entry, so familiarity, speed, and accuracy with the 10-key section of your keyboard is critical. Some overtime will be required. In this role, you will need to have a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to effectively multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

      Job Responsibilities

      • Review and correct deposit/check transactions identified as bad or defective prior to nightly processing
      • Making sure to complete the work in a timely manner to meet our Service Level Agreements
      • Promote strong internal controls through proactive identification and communication of issues
      • Support corporate and line of business projects that impact deposit accounts
      • Ensure adherence to corporate accounting, compliance, and risk policies

      Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

      • Numeric data entry using the 10-key keypad
      • Typing skills
      • Basic computer knowledge: Outlook Email, Microsoft Word, and web browser navigation
      • High degree of motivation, initiative, sense of urgency and professional demeanor
      • Ability to work well under pressure
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Exercise independent judgment in a variety of situations
      • Strong time management and attention to detail to ensure quality

      Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

      • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
      • Ability to learn policies, procedures, and processes quickly
      • Savvy with Internet/Intranet usage

      Work Schedule:
      Candidates must be willing and able to work Monday-Friday 5:00pm-1:30am.

      This position may also require you to work non-traditional hours and/or additional hours as business needs arise.
