What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage multiple consultants for bridge design projects, ensuring compliance with design standards, schedule, and budget
- Design structural details and develop contract plans and specifications for assigned projects
- Prepare proposal materials, review project-related documents, and check final plans
- Coordinate emergency bridge repairs with regions and contractors
- Assist in developing scope of work statements and budgets, managing consultant contracts for various bridge projects
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering
- Minimum of four years of professional experience as a Transportation Engineer, including two years at the P11 level or one year at the 12 level
- Valid driver's license
- Registered professional engineering license as required by the State of Michigan
- Ability to provide official college transcripts and/or foreign degree evaluations if applicable
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in managing bridge design consultant projects
- Familiarity with design of bridges for urgent repairs and emergency responses
- Previous work experience with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT)
