      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Oversee the Vulnerable Road User (VRU) Safety Program and manage related projects within the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT)
      - Serve as a statewide liaison for VRU-oriented traffic control devices and safety measures
      - Develop standards, guidelines, and policies to enhance road user safety
      - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and engineering practices
      - Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to improve roadway safety initiatives

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Must possess a valid driver's license
      - Bachelor of Science degree in engineering
      - Minimum of four years of professional experience as a Transportation Engineer, including two years equivalent to a Transportation Engineer P11 or one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 12 or Licensed 12
      - Registered professional engineering license as required by the State of Michigan
      - Must provide two writing samples as part of the application process

      - Experience working with vulnerable road user safety-related projects
      - Familiarity with traffic control devices and safety engineering practices
      - Previous involvement in project/program management within transportation engineering
