What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as the primary customer contact in a service center environment, assisting taxpayers and debtors
- Utilize case management tools to resolve inquiries regarding delinquent tax and state agency debts
- Process work queues generated by collection systems to address customer inquiries
- Interact with customers via telephone and written correspondence, ensuring adherence to established standards
- Maintain knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, and relevant laws to provide accurate information
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school
- At least one year of experience responding to customer inquiries and resolving problems for Treasury Customer Service Representative 6
- At least two years of experience for Treasury Customer Service Representative 7, including one year equivalent to a Treasury Customer Service Representative 6
- At least three years of experience for Treasury Customer Service Representative E8, including two years equivalent to a Treasury Customer Service Representative 6 or one year equivalent to a Treasury Customer Service Representative 7
- At least four years of experience for Treasury Customer Service Representative 9, including two years equivalent to a Treasury Customer Service Representative 7 or one year equivalent to a Treasury Customer Service Representative E8
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a contact center environment or customer service role
- Familiarity with collection systems and case management tools
- Strong multitasking abilities and proficiency in using multiple systems for customer inquiries
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and customer relationship management software
- Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service
