Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trust Lead Cancer Services Manager at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust. This post will work in conjunction with the Associate Medical Director for Cancer and Trust Cancer Lead Nurse to provide leadership and direction for Cancer Services across the Organisation.
We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, dynamic, and experienced Manager to work with us to support the operational teams in the delivery of cancer services, ensuring that cancer care of all patients within the Trust is of a high standard, equitable and consistent and that national targets are met.
The post includes close working and collaborating with both internal and external partners such as clinical and operational teams, relevant stakeholders, patients, and carers to deliver improvements and ensure optimal operational management of services.
Main duties of the job
x To provide leadership and direction for Cancer Services across the Trust in collaboration with the Associate Medical Director and Lead Cancer Nurse
To lead the development of high quality cancer patient pathways and services across the Trust
Support the operational teams in the delivery of cancer services to ensure that the National Cancer standards and targets are met across the Trust.
To maximise the Trust's performance in Quality Surveillance Programme reviews
To manage the Gateshead Health Cancer Centre and associated staff
Support the Associate Medical Director for Cancer in the development of the Trust's Cancer multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs)
To be a key contributor to Trust engagement with commissioners, strategic networks, Northern Cancer Alliance, referring Trusts and NHS England in relation to cancer.
