      Turnaround Lead Scheduler (P6)

      PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating, through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are a growing organization seeking a talented Turnaround Lead Scheduler to join our team as a pivotal member here at PBF Energy. This role is located at Chalmette Refinery in Chalmette, LA.

      JOB SUMMARY

      This position is accountable for the overall integrity and analysis of turnaround scheduling.

      PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Prioritizes safety at all times when scheduling turnaround activities

      • Organizes and leads schedule optimization reviews with Turnaround Lead Planners and all vested personnel, including but not limited to field supervision, Operations, Maintenance, Inspections, HSE, Capital Projects, and third-party contractors

      • Ensures overall efficient integration of shutdown schedule with the handover of equipment for mechanical work as well as sequenced turnover of equipment for startup (for all units involved with the turnaround)

      • Manages and coordinates the utilization of Primavera for all project scheduling functions which includes diagnosing/resolving any issues for all planning teams and interfacing with Chalmette Refining application support

      • Monitors the consistent use of effective scheduling practices across all planning teams and projects via the utilization of various resources, calendars, constraints, lags, level of detail for activities, logic, and cross-project dependencies

      • Validates resource requirements for the turnaround by block, contractor, etc.

      • Ensures the accuracy and integrity of resource leveling (whether manual or Primavera based), and resources histograms

      • Identifies and monitors all critical and sub-critical paths for the entire turnaround/event

      • Validates the turnaround duration for all units based on schedule analysis, potential risks, and anticipated contingencies for weather and other events

      • Ensures entire turnaround/event schedule is accurate and ready for Control Schedule Complete Milestone timing during all phases of work (e.g., pre-turnaround, shutdown, mechanical downtime, startup, and post-turnaround)

      • Manages the optimization of schedule per Control Schedule Complete Milestone with the inclusion of any project work not completed prior to the pre-turnaround phase

      • Educates field execution personnel on how to use look-ahead schedules and how to efficiently progress work

      • Measures and analyzes progress performance and forecasts for multiple projects, identifies productivity issues and resolutions, and recommends an action/recovery plan to maintain scheduled end dates

      • Validates consistency in planning updates, look-ahead reports, and tracking tools

      • Verifies that the communication plan for the Turnaround Core Team includes all necessary scheduling components

      • Assists Turnaround Support Schedulers in establishing, creating, and maintaining baselines

      • Generates event-level reports and provides assistance with detail reporting. (e.g., status, look-ahead, and forecast reports)

      • Prepares and presents Turnaround Update Packages to key stakeholders

      • Serves as the site’s main contact to perform specific schedule analyses

      • Resolves any scheduling issues including negative float, out-of-sequence updates, resource overloads, added/deleted work, progress validation, etc.

      • Mentors and trains fellow Turnaround Planners and Turnaround Support Schedulers in the use of effective planning and scheduling practices as well as Primavera skills

      • Conducts a post-turnaround critique of the schedule to determine best practices and areas for improvement

      • Ensures preparation, facilitation, and close-out for recommendations are completed for all scheduling peer assists

      • Supports network initiatives and turnaround reviews at other sites within the circuit

      JOB QUALIFICATIONS

      • 5+ years of refining turnaround experience required

      • 3+ years of P6 scheduling experience working under the direction of a Lead Scheduler

      • Familiarity with industry process safety and environment regulations, work practices, and compliance strategies as well as knowledge of basic refinery processes, reliability principles, refining economics and basic budgeting and scheduling required
