Job summary
The purpose of this position is to join Istituto Marangoni Dubai’s education team, teaching Graphic & Editorial Design within the Visual Design BA course.
The role focuses on developing students’ understanding of visual communication principles, including typography, layout, composition, and publication design, as well as presentation and storytelling through visual media.
The tutor will deliver high-quality teaching aligned with professional practice standards and contribute to the creative and academic culture of the school through lectures, critiques, and project mentoring. You will also engage with the academic and creative culture of the school, supporting student projects and industry collaborations.

• Editorial and Layout Design for Print and Digital Media
• Typography, Grid Systems, and Visual Hierarchy
• Design for Publications, Lookbooks, and Magazines
• Visual Storytelling and Presentation Design
• Advanced Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Design Thinking and Conceptual Development in Visual Communication
Teaching Activities
• Plan and deliver lessons through a clear, engaging, and student-centered approach aligned with CAA standards and Istituto Marangoni methodology.
• Prepare and update teaching materials, briefs, and course documentation as required.
• Encourage innovation and experimentation in design projects while ensuring alignment with academic objectives and industry relevance.
• Participate in School and company projects, reviews, and exhibitions.
• Provide formative and summative assessments with constructive feedback, ensuring transparency and academic integrity.
• Contribute to programme development through collaboration with the Programme Leader and Director of Education.
Students’ Academic Support
• Guide students in building strong visual and conceptual skills across design media.
• Support students’ creative and professional development through mentorship, critique sessions, and portfolio preparation.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback on design, layout, and presentation work.
• Foster critical thinking, teamwork, and professional conduct.
• Ensure students are aware of industry standards and best practices.
Industry Project
• Encourage students to connect design outcomes with real-world applications and industry expectations.
• Collaborate with external professionals, studios, or design events when relevant to enrich student experience.
• Promote awareness of current trends and innovations in editorial, branding, and graphic design.
Educational and Professional Requirements
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in graphic design, branding, or editorial design, supported by a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Education Qualification Equivalency from the Ministry of Education in the UAE (or willingness to obtain).
• Previous teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail as well critical-thinking skills;
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to visual detail and presentation.
• UAE residency preferred.
