      Role description:

      Arcadis is seeking a UAV/UAS Pilot and GIS/Geomatics Tech to join our team in Ontario. The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing professional leadership in their discipline at an area level, establishing and consolidating relationships with clients, managing the delivery of projects or specialized components of projects, supporting the development of Arcadis capability in the discipline and building and maintaining a professional reputation as an individual and for Arcadis. Candidate to be located in the Waterloo Region, or Greater Toronto Area.

      Role accountabilities:

      The expectations in the field setting will be to travel to construction project sites (across Canada) and interface with Site superintendents, Project Managers, and Clients. Field data collection as required to meet project needs (Including Setting Horizontal and Vertical controls for projects, flying UAV, and processing data and creating drawings). Additionally Troubleshoot surveying issues on site and provide support to site staff while also providing QA/QC so site survey processes and data collection.

      The expectations of the candidate in an office setting will be to Lead the delivery of projects ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management and good communication and collaboration between Arcadis colleagues, engage with the client and all key stakeholders to develop a shared understanding of project objectives and to establish protocols for working together, Guide clients through the technical decision making process and provide alternative solutions if there are changes to project parameters, Work with other offices to share resources and technical knowledge, Keep up to date with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments and seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profile at an Area level (e.g. conference presentations, publications and participation in technical committees), Coach and mentor survey professionals to support the development of Arcadis’ talent pool and finally process field collection data to provide deliverables for projects.

      • Strong leadership skills with ability to mentor junior staff and provide training as needed
      • Excellent research, data gathering and analysis skills
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
      • Excellent time management skills
      • Expert technical skills with advanced analytical skills
      • Strong consulting skills including project management and client relationship management at senior level
      • Must have valid Drivers License
      • Be working toward, or achieved, relevant vocational qualification(s); i.e., Licensed Land Surveyor

      Qualifications & Experience:

      • Post-Secondary Diploma mandatory; or higher level degree in relevant field
      • 5 or more years’ relevant experience
      • UAV Advanced Pilot License for Ontario
      • Proficient in using Geospatial data management tools (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Arc GIS Pro.. and etc).
      • Experience using Total Station with base and rover preferred
