      Job Summary

      The undergraduate assistantship (UA) provides support to Professor Melissa Chomintra within the Libraries and School of Information Studies (LSIS). The UA will work closely with the instructor to support the learning and development of undergraduate students enrolled in ILS 230 : Data Science & Society: Ethical, Legal, and Social Issues. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting in an online class environment via Brightspace, providing guidance and feedback to students, and assisting with course administration tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about data science, teaching, and fostering an understanding of the societal implications of data.

      Qualifications

      Required Qualifications: Must be a current undergraduate student

      • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
      • Passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping others succeed in their learning journey
      • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Completion of ILS 230
      • Familiarity with Brightspace
      • Interest in data science
