- Assigns, directs, and evaluates the work of subordinates.
- Ensures bills are properly prepared for presentation to insurance companies and attorneys at law.
- Certifies and approves all applicable bills and vouchers.
- Responsible for analyzing system requirements and making changes in programs currently in use.
- Provides monthly and quarterly reports Director of Resource Management (DRM) and Defense Health Agency as required.
- Processes the more complex Third-Party Collection Program bills, researching information to accomplish the function.
- Monitors the office's billing and collection procedures.
- Periodically reviews job descriptions of subordinates for currency and accuracy.
- Makes recommendations concerning the proper resourcing of the program.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a SECRET National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (ANACI) background check.
- This position requires the successful completion of the Financial Management Level 2 Certification within 2 years of employment.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. A candidate selected to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
About the Position: This position is located within Naval Hospital Jacksonville, BLDG 2091 Directorate Resource Management office, Uniform Business Office. Working hours are Monday-Friday 0730-1600

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) processing third-party collections program bills, 2) ensuring bills are properly prepared for presentation to insurance companies and attorneys at law and 3) Have a understanding of regulations and directives for insurance and military billing.About the company
