- Recruits, trains, and supervises housing specialist(s), interns, and volunteers in accordance with CWS policies and guidance.
- Develops and implements an outreach strategy to engage and recruit new housing partners throughout the Triad and surrounding areas.
- Ensures recruitment of new landlords and explores new housing opportunities, including housing for short-term temporary stays as well as long-term permanent placements.
- Leads Housing Program team in providing culturally and linguistically appropriate services.
- Coordinates ongoing appreciation activities with current housing partners.
- Monitors refugee arrivals and oversees coordination of housing efforts.
- Works closely with the Resettlement Program Manager and Community Engagement Manager to ensure timely services to refugees in accordance with the Cooperative Agreement.
- Conducts case file reviews and monitors service documentation to ensure program compliance.
- Documents all contacts and services in client case files and maintain case note logs.
- Completes relevant housing-related reporting in a timely manner.
- Promotes teamwork and works closely with Resettlement Program Manager to coordinate the workload between Housing Program staff and Case Managers.
- Conducts regular housing inspections to ensure the quality of refugee housing.
- Liaises with landlords as issues arise with tenants and provides ongoing support and education to landlords.
- Provides housing orientation to newcomers in coordination with the Cultural Orientation Specialist.
- Stays up to date on program changes and advancements. Coordinates staff trainings on program changes as necessary.
- Participates in local housing-related coalitions and advocacy efforts to improve and increase safe and affordable housing options.
- Advocates on behalf of refugees and refugee-serving voluntary agencies.
- Keeps informed of refugee and immigrant issues, using current information to educate the broader community and raise awareness.
- Works varied hours, including some nights and weekends.
- Attends trainings and conferences as requested by supervisor.
- It is required to maintain full COVID Vaccination status.
- This is an in-person position located in Greensboro, North Carolina
- The successful candidate must pass a background check.
- Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Must have valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle. Mileage accrued while executing work responsibilities is reimbursable by CWS.

Primary Purpose: The Housing Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the Housing Program and developing and implementing bold and innovative approaches to cultivating and strengthening housing partnerships and increasing the profile of CWS Greensboro. Duties include developing and implementing strategies to recruit new housing partners, securing housing for arriving refugees, ensuring compliance with federal programs, supervising housing specialist(s), and representing CWS Greensboro and participating in housing-related community events.
Essential Duties :
Qualifications:
Education: B.A. or experience in refugee resettlement or related field.
Experience: Two years of experience in a non-profit setting. Experience and interest working in refugee resettlement is a plus. Cultural sensitivity is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be comfortable with public speaking. Experience in locating housing for vulnerable populations required. Previous experience in leading a team is strongly preferred.
Other skills: Must have outstanding personal communication style, interpersonal judgement, and the ability to produce high quality and compelling material. The ideal candidate must be a quick study of CWS Greensboro’s past successes and future opportunities, and must be highly entrepreneurial, resourceful, and creative. Must have excellent leadership skills and a strong ability to maintain and grow relationships while working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. The successful candidate must be computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Access) and internet applications required.
