What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Receive information regarding inpatient admissions from physicians and hospitals via telephone or fax
- Perform data entry into the system in accordance with department documentation standards
- Generate and process daily reports, letters, and discharge logs
- Coordinate with Care Management to ensure timely updates to admission records
- Assist with documentation of workflows and procedures while cross-training co-workers
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 2-3 years of experience in Utilization Management or Care Management within a managed care setting
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with CaseTrakker, eCare, Jiva, or MedHOK systems
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards related to utilization management
