The Vice President of Marketing & Sales Operations is responsible for leading the development and execution of the company's overall marketing, branding, and communication strategies. This role will focus on enhancing brand visibility, driving customer engagement, supporting revenue growth, and positioning the company as a leader in the supply chain and logistics industry.
The VP will oversee all marketing functions, including brand management, digital marketing, communications, market research, and lead generation, while collaborating closely with the Sales, Business Development, and Operations and HR teams. Specifically for our business development teams, supporting the professionalization of our sales presentations, proposals and CRM deployment. Finally, along with the Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Executive Officer integrate acquired capabilities and companies into our core go to market messaging.
Marketing Strategy & Execution:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the company's growth objectives and brand positioning.
• Lead brand-building efforts to strengthen market presence and differentiate the company within the supply chain and logistics sector.
• Manage digital marketing initiatives, including website management, social media, and content marketing campaigns.
• Design and execute customer acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies across multiple channels.
Branding & Communications:
• Establish and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all communications and marketing materials.
• Oversee internal and external communication efforts, including press releases, public relations initiatives, newsletters, and corporate messaging.
• Develop thought leadership programs to position company executives and subject matter experts within the industry.
Leadership & Team Development:
• Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing marketing and branding team.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Business Development, and Operations to align marketing efforts with business needs.
• Manage external vendors, marketing agencies, and consultants as needed to support marketing initiatives.
Market Research & Analytics:
• Conduct market research to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape insights.
• Monitor and report on marketing campaign effectiveness and ROI, adjusting strategies based on performance data.
• Analyze industry trends to inform marketing strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
Sales Operations (in support of VP of Sales or Business Unit Sales Leaders):
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline sales operations and enhance efficiency, including in the cases of mergers and acquisitions.
• Analyze sales performance metrics and provide actionable insights to drive sales growth.
• Ensure effective use of CRM systems to track sales activities and customer interactions.
• Develop and present regular reports on campaign effectiveness, sales performance, trends, and forecasts to the executive team
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive marketing or business development leadership experience, with at least 5 years at a senior management or executive level.
• Proven success in B2B marketing, ideally within logistics, supply chain, transportation, or a related industry.
• Strong expertise in brand strategy, digital marketing, lead generation, content marketing, and public relations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive measurable business results.
• Excellent leadership, team-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Highly analytical, with strong skills in marketing analytics, data-driven decision-making, and CRM tools.
• Experience managing marketing budgets and vendor relationships.About the company
