About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Sales to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a key leader in developing and executing strategies to expand market share, increase revenue, and enhance client relationships. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth through new customer acquisition and strategic partnerships, with a focus on the fiber infrastructure and telecommunications sectors. The VP of Sales will be responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with telecom carriers, infrastructure providers, and enterprise clients, as well as leading efforts to secure government infrastructure contracts. A hunter mentality is essential, as the role involves acquiring new business and securing high-value contracts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the industry, a strong network, and the ability to engage with key decision-makers at all levels.
Applicants for the Vice President of Sales position at the company should have a minimum of 5 years' business development leadership experience in telecommunications, fiber infrastructure, or a related industry. A proven track record of closing large enterprise and government contracts, with deal sizes in the range of $25M+ annually, is required. The role demands a high level of financial acumen, strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience with IRU sales, one-time fiber infrastructure deals, and dark fiber leasing is essential, as is the ability to navigate complex sales cycles and manage long-term business relationships. The candidate should be willing to travel extensively and be adept at using CRM tools to track and optimize business development efforts.
