What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Devise and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a "school community"
- Tutor struggling students in small groups or one-on-one
- Complete all grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner
- Communicate with parents, students, and other teachers regularly to develop and update Personal Learning Plans (PLP)
- Assess student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, Masters preferred
- Valid Texas teaching certificate in specified area
- Three years of teaching experience with a preference for online instruction
- Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft OS and MS Office programs
- Ability to work remotely and in an office as necessary
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned with Advance Placement (AP) experience preferred
- Experience in Computer Science 8-12, Business & Finance 6-12, Marketing 6-12, ASL EC-12, French EC-12, or German EC-12
- Ability to support and guide adults as well as students
- Experience with developing and integrating field trips into the curriculum
