      Visiting Assistant Professor in Tuba and Euphonium

      Greenwood School of Music, Oklahoma State University

      Stillwater, Oklahoma

      The Greenwood School of Music seeks a qualified instructor of tuba and euphonium to teach undergraduate applied lessons and coach chamber ensembles. Additional teaching duties may include courses in pedagogy and literature and low brass methods. Additional teaching assignments may be in general education or in an area of the candidate’s expertise. This is a one-year, non-tenure track position, with possibility of renewal. This position is contingent upon available funding and has a begin date of August 15, 2025.

      Master’s degree required. Experience teaching studio low brass at the university level, as well as chamber and orchestral performance experience desired.

      Oklahoma State University (OSU), a Carnegie R1 research university, is a comprehensive land-grant institution of higher education with an enrollment of more than 26,000 students. The University offers 91 programs of study leading to a bachelor’s degree, 70 master’s programs, and 46 programs at the doctoral level. OSU’s main campus in Stillwater is roughly 65 miles from the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metropolitan areas.

      The Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music has thirty-six full-time and thirteen part-time faculty members and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. Due to growth in the tuba and euphonium studio, an additional faculty member is being hired. The School offers the degrees of Master of Music (with options in applied music or conducting); Bachelor of Music (with options in music education, performance, and jazz performance); Bachelor of Arts (including a composition option);and Bachelor of Science in Music Industry. OSU is also home to The McKnight Center for the Performing Arts, a world-class venue that attracts celebrated national and international programs and artists.
